Creating Solutions

TEAC believes that teens can achieve anything they set their minds to. Our goal is to bring those teenagers together and give them the resources they need to create those solutions to environmental problems. We help teens with everything from creating biotechnological innovations to writing proposals for government officials to read.

TEAC? You mean like the tree?

Updated: Jun 3, 2018

Well, not exactly. It's more like Teens for Environmental Awareness and Conservation!

So what does that mean exactly? Well, TEAC is a non-profit organization that allows teenagers the chance to come together and educate the Wilmington, North Carolina community on environmental issues. We also give these teenagers opportunities to create solutions to these problems. Teens don't always get a huge say in the world around them, even though they are going to be running this world in a few short years. That's why TEAC is so committed to helping them get a head start about something they are so passionate about.

Founder of TEAC, Amanda Edwards, with mentor Keni Rienks

TEAC is connected to teens in the best way possible; it was founded (and is now run) by teens themselves! Amanda Edwards, a 16-year old native of Wilmington, NC, founded TEAC when she felt there was a lack of support for teens interested in environmental science. Now she is the president of TEAC and has help from some of her closest friends, who are also teens.

Now TEAC is currently focused on reaching out to the community and making an impact in any way possible. Our goal is to recruit as many interested and motivated teens as we can and getting the whole community involved. If you want to get involved, just subscribe to our email list or reach out to Amanda using the contact info below!

With all of us working together, TEAC can create a better, greener tomorrow.
